- Fusing Scandinavian design and British hardwood, each of these decorative statement pieces is slowly hand carved by Bird & Branch with locally sourced sustainable hardwood. The grain of the wood is preserved, and the shapes of these wooden bowls, vases and candles sticks open the opportunity to create your own story for years to come.
Tall bottle vases in British Ash wood for ornamental dried flowers or foliage, with a charred black finish.
These decorative vases are made from Sussex Ash, which is hand turned into the pleasing slender form. Once the final shape has been carved, Bird & Branch treat the wood using the ancient Japanese technique of Yakisugi. Scorching with a 2000 degree flame causes instant charring, a process that is then repeated. The vase is then treated with a a hard wearing blend of natural plant oils and waxes.
Being made of non waterproof wood, this vase is perfect for dry decorative items from nature, such as dried flowers or twigs. A great way to bring the outdoors in without any maintenance!
