A Pocket Mirror with a rim of precision machined solid brass. Held in the hand or balanced on its side it provides a crystal clear reflection. When not in use it can be stowed away in a bag or jacket pocket. The product is not plated or lacquered in any way, thus allowing its surface finish to change with use and age – eventually developing a rich natural patina and becoming uniquely personal to its owner. The leather sleeve was designed to complement, protect and store the Minimalux Pocket Mirror.
The tough, natural, untreated vegetable tan leather combined with the use of traditional hand skills and saddlery tools make it the perfect accompaniment to the precision machined brass rim of the Mirror. The sleeve is hand stitched with strong beeswaxed linen thread, hand burnished and hot stamped with the Minimalux mark. The mirror sits flush within the sleeve and is fully covered by the leather which is untreated other than a light coating of mink oil – shielding it from moisture and allowing it to age naturally and develop a rich dark golden colour.

Care and Maintenance
The mirror: The brass elements of this item will evolve naturally with age. If you prefer to maintain the original lustre, regularly polish the metal with a soft cloth and an appropriate metal cleaner – Minimalux recommends Silvex for this purpose. Clean the mirror glass with a mild conventional glass cleaner.
The sleeve: The surface and flexibility of this natural leather will evolve with use and age. It will quickly darken with sunlight, absorbing the daily marks of its owner, continuously changing its appearance and suppleness, until it reaches a rich dark golden colour. At this point it will continue to evolve but very slightly and at a much slower pace.
Although a very light treatment of mink oil has already been applied, to preserve or soften the leather further, another application of mink oil can be applied. Should you wish to clean the leather use a saddle soap with a warm slightly dampen cloth. Both mink oil and saddle soap may darken the leather and it may slow down the natural tanning process. Minimalux recommends Fiebing Saddle Soap and Fiebing Mink Oil for this.
