Common Good created their products to reduce their reliance on plastic containers. In particular, they pay close attention to cleaning products which create a large amount of recycling.

Making effective products that look great and safe to use around kids and pets, USA company Common Good developed ‘green’ formulas including all ingredients on the labels so you can decide what’s best for your family.

Founded by Australian-born Sacha Dunn, a former prop stylist, the mission of Brooklyn-based Common Good is simple: “We believe in safe, green, hard-working household cleaners and soaps in bottles you can refill.” Common Good products are largely plant-based and are free of fragrance, dyes, and synthetic perfumes.

Before starting Common Good, Dunn and her husband Edmund Levine spent a year researching which ingredients would go into their formula, and discovered that they actually weren’t particularly comfortable with many of the things found in the products they previously used.

“We found green chemists, who we worked with to design the formulas,” said Dunn. The products are also formulated without sulphates, to be biodegradable, and are certified cruelty-free.
