At Another Country, we believe a chair should be more than just a place to sit. It is a foundational element of the home—an invitation to gather, a quiet corner for reflection, or a hardworking companion at the kitchen table.
Our seating collection is built upon the principles of archetypal forms, drawing inspiration from the unpretentious beauty of Shaker, British Country, and Scandinavian traditions. Each piece is refined for contemporary life, ensuring that while the silhouettes feel familiar and timeless, the comfort and utility are resolutely modern.
Beyond the initial form lies a deep commitment to the materials we use and the hands that shape them. Every chair, bench, and armchair in our collection is a celebration of the natural home.
We use only sustainably certified timbers—primarily oak and ash—sourced from responsibly managed forests. Our construction methods honour traditional joinery, from wedged tenons to hand-finished frames, resulting in furniture that is as structurally sound as it is visually light.
As a B Corp, we design with the entire life cycle of our furniture in mind. This means moving away from the ephemeral and towards the enduring. Whether it is the pared-back utility of our Series One designs or the soft, tactile comfort of our naturally upholstered armchairs—which use 100% natural fibres and fillings—every piece is made to order in our UK and European workshops. By choosing honest materials and purposeful design, we create seating that does not just fill a space, but ages gracefully alongside the people who use it, becoming a cherished part of the landscape of your home for generations to come.

We aim to keep a wide selection of our furniture on display at our showroom in Marylebone, Central London, or at our converted showroom barn in the heart of the west country, just north of the historic town of Shaftesbury.
