1. Terms and Conditions of sale
Unless otherwise agreed in writing by Another Country, all goods are supplied on the following conditions to the exclusion of any terms or conditions stipulated by the buyer and of any representations, warranties or communications not expressly incorporated herein or in the order confirmation.
Orders can be placed through our website, over the phone and via email. Once you have placed an order with us, we will email you within 24hrs (or the next working day) with an order confirmation and additional information relating to your order. Once you have received a confirmation you will have entered into a purchase contract with us.
In the unlikely event that there is a pricing mistake or the goods are no longer available, we will advise you of this. In this case you will not receive a confirmation email and therefore there will be no contract between us.
It is the customer’s responsibility to check the order form and confirm that all products and address details are correct.
We reserve the right to cancel any order at any time for whatever reason, in which case all funds paid will be returned.
2. Lead Times
Our lead times are to be referred to as a guide only and may be subject to change due to circumstances outside our control. Note that lead times are usually longer during summer and winter closures, so please check our website or contact us for the most up to date information.
We shall not be liable for failure to perform or for a delay in performance due to fire, flood, strike (or other labour difficulty), act of God, riot, embargo, fuel or energy shortage, delay in transportation (including potential Brexit-related delays), delay in materials, failure of suppliers to meet their contractual obligations, or due to any other cause beyond our control. If any such event occurs, we may extend the delivery date by the period of time necessary to overcome the effect of such delay, allocate an alternative product or cancel the order.
3. Held Orders & Storage
We can store goods up to one week free of charge at our discretion. If you wish to store your goods for longer than one week, storage charges may apply, per cubic metre/per week.
4. Cancellation and Returns
When you purchase an item online, you have the right to cancel your contract and return items to us up to 14 days after delivery, subject to the conditions below.
Any products that are returned should be unused and in their original packaging.
Due to hygiene reasons, mattresses cannot be returned if they have been removed from their original packaging.
If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they return to us and this causes the damage or deterioration of the products, we will charge you for the reduction in value.
If you request a refund, we will refund the amount you paid for your goods excluding the original delivery charge and the charge for returning the goods.
For non stock items i.e. items that are made to order on a typical 8 week lead time, there will be no charge for cancellation or amendments to orders if notification is received in writing by the department within 7 days of placing the original order.
All amendments to orders or requests for cancellation must be notified in writing either by email at email@example.com or by post to Another Country, Order Cancellation, 18 Crawford Street, London W1H 1BT, UK.
Furniture, including both standard and custom, may only be returned for full refund or exchanged in the unlikely event of items being found to be faulty and is at our discretion.
For security reasons, refunds are given by the same method that the original payment was made by.
This cancellation policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Items are delivered by single drivers to the ground floor of your property only, unless arranged otherwise. Please contact us if you need a different level of service. Please be advised that levels and types of service will vary according to the country of destination.
OUR PRODUCTS ARE QUALITY CHECKED AND DEEMED IN PERFECT CONDITION PRIOR TO LEAVING THE FACTORY. PLEASE INSPECT YOUR GOODS IMMEDIATELY UPON ARRIVAL AND DO NOT SIGN FOR THEM UNLESS YOU ARE CERTAIN THAT THEY HAVE ARRIVED IN PERFECT CONDITION. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO CHECK THE CONTENTS ON ARRIVAL, PLEASE SPECIFY THAT YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE BOX ONLY AND REMARK ON ITS CONDITION. PLEASE REPORT ANY DAMAGE TO US WITHIN 24 HOURS. IF YOU SIGN FOR THE GOODS AND IT TURNS OUT THEY ARE DAMAGED, AND/OR YOU DO NOT REPORT THE DAMAGE WITHIN 24 HOURS, OURSELVES AND THE TRANSPORT COMPANY CAN NOT ASSUME LIABILITY.
In order to keep your goods in the best condition possible during transit, they are carefully packaged to avoid damage. It is essential you keep the packaging until you are 100% satisfied with your order. The reason for this is if the delivery company need to inspect the packaging following a report of damage, and if you wish to return your order for any reason as we can only accept the products if returned in their original packaging.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all measurements of furniture purchased are checked to ensure accessibility. Any item of furniture that we are unable to deliver as a result of problems involving access that were not mentioned in writing at time of order will not be refunded.
Delivery company disclaimer:
Please be aware that although our delivery drivers take every care when delivering your products, we cannot be held responsible for any damages that occur to your property or possessions whilst the delivery is in process. It is your responsibility to take every care to cover any carpets or furniture and remove any valuables, including pictures, from the delivery area.

6. Faulty Goods
We work hard to ensure your goods arrive in a perfect condition. In the unlikely event of an item being found to be faulty during its applicable warranty period from the date of shipment, we shall repair or replace the affected part or parts, or accept a return for a full or part refund, credit note or exchange, at our own discretion.
Please do not attempt to fix the problem yourself, contact us first. We are unable to accept any goods back if changes have been made, as it will invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
We cannot be held responsible for any items that are reported faulty yet show evidence of heavy handling, misuse, installation errors or defects caused from any period of time in storage, upon inspection.
Photographic representation: We try to display our products as accurately as possible on our website. However, as different computers display different colours, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy of the pictures or photographs shown.
We only use high quality furniture-grade wood for our furniture, also referred to as Grade A. As with all types of wood, this may vary for grain, colour, knots and other markings. We do our best to select and match as appropriate but we cannot accept returns on the basis of natural variations. Any special colour or finish requirement (for example for matching) must be provided in writing, however there is no guarantee that variation will not occur.
Wood warpage, shrinkage, and dimensional changes:
Wood is an active material, in that it is known to have dimensional changes depending upon temperature, humidity and moisture. Changes in texture, minor deviations in colour and natural growth defects are not considered failures. They only prove the genuine nature of the wood as a natural element. Wood is always reacting to the surrounding environment and this may result in small cracks in the timber and/or paint, or a slight penetration of the wooden structure on the surface during the lifetime of the product. Small cracks may appear early as the timber adjusts to its environment. This should not be considered as a defect.
Our wood will have been dried to correct moisture content, typically between 10-12%, but warping and shrinkage can still occur as the wood settles into its new environment, especially when the furniture is shipped to drier climates from where it was made, or if it has been stored for a period of time in a particularly warm or humid environment. Our furniture, unless specified otherwise, is suitable for indoor use with a relative humidity between 25 and 60% and a temperature between 18 and 24 degrees C.
We will accept returns if the timber was not appropriately dried but we cannot accept returns that stem from climactic differences.
Another Country reserves the right to modify the Terms and Conditions without notice. New Terms and Conditions automatically supersede prior published information from the date of publication.
