This versatile compact oak armchair is will complement any living space and makes for the perfect bedroom slip chair.
Two chair typologies from the 19th century, Thomas Hardy’s birth century, inspired the design of its Hardy Chair sibling: firstly the Captain’s chair, originally a low-backed wooden armchair and secondly the Smokers bow, a low back Windsor, often used in smoking rooms, public houses, barbers shops and cottages.
Old Furniture, a poem by Dorset born Thomas Hardy, after which the range is named, is an ode to beauty of furniture being handed down the generations, and David Irwin’s oak Hardy Armchair is a classic in the making.
The chair is upholstered with 100% natural upholstery.
