The Syd Chair is a study in architectural poise and tactile warmth. Taking its cues from the bold, emotive forms of Luis Barragán, the design eschews traditional slenderness in favor of a confident, substantial silhouette. Crafted from solid ash, the frame’s thick sections and clean geometry create a sense of permanence and “spirit of place” within the home.
The pale, open grain of the ash is beautifully offset by a hand-woven paper cord seat. This natural texture provides a soft, ergonomic counterpoint to the chair’s structural weight, offering a seat that conforms to the body while remaining remarkably durable. Honest, purposeful, and deeply rooted in the materials, the Syd Chair is a modern archetype that brings a quiet, sculptural authority to the dining table.
