Since our inception, we have always championed the use of natural materials in our collections such as solid wood, organic textiles, and responsibly sourced fibre to create cleaner, healthier living spaces, free from volatile toxic organic compounds (VOCs) and pollutants.
The beauty of natural materials is that they are biodegradable, renewable, and kind to the planet. Responsibly sourced wood, for example, sequesters carbon throughout its life, helping to reduce greenhouse gases. Organic cotton, linen, and wool decompose naturally, avoiding the microplastic pollution associated with synthetic fabrics like polyester.
Beyond sustainability, natural materials also enhance physical and mental wellbeing. Evidence based research in Biophilic Design shows that incorporating natural elements into our homes can reduce stress, improve productivity, creativity and boost overall mood. Wood, for instance, has a calming effect similar to time spent in nature. Its warmth and organic grain makes spaces feel inviting and restful.
